Valencia Welcomes the Chinese New Year with Vibrant Celebrations

Valencia warmly embraced the Chinese New Year with a bustling parade symbolizing the integration of cultures. The event, which marks the beginning of the year 4,722 according to the Chinese calendar, will take place this weekend, attracting thousands of spectators who will line the streets to witness the vibrant procession.

The highlight of the festivities will be the 11th Chinese New Year Parade, scheduled in advance of the official start date on February 10th. The parade, featuring the traditional Dragon Dance, will wind its way through the streets of the Chinatown and city center, captivating the audience along its route.

The procession, accompanied by lively music and drum beats, will showcase various aspects of Chinese culture, including tai chi, martial arts performances, and traditional costumes. Following the parade, a cultural event will be held in the town hall square, featuring representatives from local institutions and the Chinese community.

Zhou Lizhou, President of the Valencia Chinese Business Association, expressed gratitude for the upcoming celebration, emphasizing its significance in fostering cultural exchange and integration. Attendees will be treated to a spectacular fireworks display, marking the culmination of the festivities.
