I discovered Valencia ten years ago when I came here as a tourist, and my family and I have been visiting ever since. Three years ago we decided to move here permanently. I have been running my own business for 16 years now, supplying plant-based ingredients to food producers in the UK. Since moving here, I have continued to manage and develop the business remotely.
I moved to Valencia with my family because of the warm and sunny climate, allowing for long hours spent enjoying an outdoor lifestyle, visiting the lovely beach and picturesque countryside. We love the Turia park. Our children, now seven and eleven years old, attend a bilingual Spanish-English school in Valencia. It is great to raise them here. We are satisfied with their education and the staff at the school are very tolerant, supportive, friendly and open-minded. We love this city.
Working from a co-working office and working remotely in general, is the perfect set up for me. It comes with no office rules or policies, and with the flexibility to choose my own working schedule while preventing the distraction and solitude that goes with working from home.
I chose it because of the central location, friendly staff and flexible approach to the working hours.
The community of coworkers is very international, I meet people from Spain and from around the world. Besides, there is a Spanish school in the same location, so I enjoy listening to Spanish while working, this way I learn in a passive way. I am considering joining one of the classes at some point, too.
Not yet. I tend to travel a lot for work and so I try to balance this with spending time with my family. I would love to join some of the activities in the future though.
